True Love Waits

Break Down

Love: Strong affection; warm attachment; cherish; to feel a passion, devotion, or tenderness for.
Infatuation: To cause to be foolish; deprive of sound judgement.

TRUE LOVE QUIZ!! 3 easy questions to see if you know what true love is!

  1. Does true love require me to think of the other person first but without sacrificing my morals or integrity?
  2. Does true love allow me to say "No" to the other person without being rejected or teased?
  3. Is true love unconditional and trusting?

If you answered "YES!" to all three of the questions, you DO know what true love is! True love takes time to develop and mature. Infatuation is what happens instantly and focuses only on what your desires are.

DID YOU KNOW SEX CAN KILL YOU?

It can, but shouldn't! Sex can have devastating effects!
Did you know...

  • 67% of all Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STD's) occur in people under the age of 25.
  • There are more than 20 identifiable STD's.
  • More than 1 in 5 Americans are presently infected with an STD.
  • STD's infect 3.75 million teenagers each year.
  • 80% infected with an STD do not develop the initial symptoms.

"When you have sex with someone, you are having sex with everyone they have had sex with for the last ten years, and everyone they and their partners have had sex with for the last ten years." C. Everett Koop, Former U.S. Surgeon General

Some STD's are curable, some are not! Some STD's, like Chlamydia and Gonorrhea, though treatable, can cause sterility, meaning you will never be able to bear children. HPV can develop into cervical cancer if not treated!

The only 100% way to prevent STD's is to reserve all sexual contact until you are in a committed, monogamous relationship! Marriage! Reserving sexual expression until marriage will benefit the future health of your marriage by allowing you and your partner to trust each other 100%! If your partner waited until marriage to have sex, they can exhibit great self-control when they are married to you! You will be free of STD's and the potential damaging effects they can have!

If you are or have ever been sexually active, you need to be tested for STD's! Need to know where you can go? Call (509) 248-2273 or email healthyrelationships@lifechoicesyakima.com.
